Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them;
and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain,
and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. Jeremiah 16:16

Dylan: Our Branch is Crazy

IOlympic Village and Commies

I don't even remember what happened this week it went by so fast.
Monday- found this Dad and a daughter inside a store and he asked me which of the 7 churches from the Book of Revelations I was, and he thought it was a joke that I didn't know which of the 7 churches I was, which turns out just to be the 7 churches of Asia. Anyways we got excited because they are very believing and feel like they are by themselves in this wicked world.
Tuesday- we met with them and he wouldn't meet in our church, because he didn't want us to have the "upper ground" even though on the streets we can't talk about Jesus. We walked and he kept trying to bible bash and we would wreck with only the bible every time. We headed back to the church finally, and they showed us this Russian Shilo le Buff guy on the computer that they swore was like a prophet and he thought our prophet was a joke that "couldn't even remember his own name" and how he was to old, and than he would be such a kid about it and tell us how we are too young and we can't know anything about Jesus, and that he knows the Bible and Jesus perfectly. His 25 year old daughter just followed everything her father did. I never met such a prideful person in my life. So immature. We would wreck him but he was so prideful he could never take anything back that he said. We ended up just testifying and sending them off. It's such a pity how prideful people can be, I have never met so much prideful people in my life than here, and they really have nothing to be prideful about.  I don't get it.
-Visited the legless member on his birthday and gave him a cake. It was a very sweet experience.
-We met up with this chill protestant Baptist guy (first one I've met in Russia). It was nice because it was nice to relate, because we feel like we are on the same team against all these sinners.
-We went with our Branch President to the mountains for the day to check out the hotels because they are going to have a YSA Conference this summer for all of Russia at the Olympic Village! So we got up on the ski lifts for free - way fun and pretty! Saw the Vodka lovers dancing hard on top of the tables. I love Russia.
- They assigned my comp and myself to go run Elders Quorum, so he is the pres and I’m his 1st councilor. We are pretty much doing whatever our branch pres needs us to do, because he is trying to turn this literally crazy rundown branch into dynasty of milk and honey.
- Our branch is crazy. I mean that after church last week when we were 2 hours away at a group, some members got together and meditated in the church for hours after the church meeting, and our old branch presidency went inactive, besides one we were able to bring back. The other said that our church is just a business and the old president runs when he sees us on the street. Also the members are also so prideful, we took out the chairs in the back of the chapel because they always just set them up back there and no one sits up front so it makes it look like we have no one at church, So Pres had us take all those chairs out and put them in his office so they would have to sit like a normal congregation, but when they come to church they make a big fit during the meeting and the people in the front row push back their row 4 feet and then people just take the chairs that we set up in the rows and put them in the back. One of them even took one of the chairs from where they bless the sacrament. I'm sorry I can go off and off at some of the members here. They make it so hard for potentials or investigators to stay, but I am so glad that President’s family moved in because they are so solid, and we are finally fixing up this branch, but it's hard to get any of them on board.
- Our branch president is such a babe. We brought an investigator over to their house for dinner. When they took us home their family wanted to do a fast with us so that we can have a baptism this transfer or a lot of baptisms. The last baptism they had here was over a year ago, and he disappeared off the Earth, and apparently is one of those guys who gets baptized into every church. And the last baptism before that was over 3 years ago and was the old branch President who also is inactive now. So Sochi really needs some new hope and blood. We went to the mountains and started our fast in front of the casino with Pres.

-There was also this old grandpa drenched with communism pride that came to us early Wednesday morning yelling at us telling us to do something with his key and getting all up in our faces. I don't know if I can blame the people. I think communism really messed this country up - so much pride and no manners. It's just culture I guess, and they always say to immerse yourself in the culture so #ILoveCommunism #DeathtoCapitalism #КрымНаш

It’s fun.  I’m glad to be here. We are going to light this place on fire.  Hey, we want to do a fireside and my comp and I will talk about ourselves for a bit and they want me to talk a little about my history, so can you send me any stories or articles we have of our ancestors?  Maybe the ones who joined the church. Dad’s side would be cool because I know nothing about them.  Hey, did you get the package I sent yet? I forgot to sned Grandma and Grandpa Signs’ letter and Grandpa Devine. SO I’ll send that.
